Giclee (Zhee-clay) prints are produced from digital imagery, using an ink jet printer. The image produced is fade resistant, and “archival”. To cut to the chase, my prints are being produced using the finest available technology, on the best acid-free stock.
I love to ride. I’d love to own a vintage bike, too; but that is still a dream in the making. I was interested in buying some prints of vintage motorcycles, and started looking around. Lo, and behold, there’s not much out there. Since I love to draw, I started drawing them, myself. Before you know it, I had a slew of drawings, and an artist friend of mine told me I really ought to sell them. So, we got busy, and put together this website.
My favorite illustrative style is graphic arts from
the Thirties and Forties. I like the clean lines, and
great figurative quality of drawings from back then.
Part of the reason that illustrations looked the way
they did was because of printing technology. The
drawing was either produced as an etching, or a two to
four color lithograph. I also think that Commercial
Artists back then had more illustration training.
Don’t get me wrong, computers are great, but since
technology has advanced, this sort of art isn’t really
being taught anymore.
Plus, since I’m drawing Vintage bikes, it made sense
to me to draw them in the style of their Time.
I think it looks really cool.
Your order will be forwarded to a print shop, the print will be generated, and Fed-Exed to you, using regular delivery. If you want some other delivery option, just let me know. I’m shipping in Fed Ex boxes, so you needn’t worry about your prints being bent or mangled. The print shop I’m using is right near where I live, so if there are any problems, I can go right to them, and straighten things out.
That’s my next project. I want to sell t-shirts, and other goods. I’m just trying to figure out what I should sell, and where I should get it from. Please contact me with ideas. I’m working on some 2-tone images that would look terrific on a ringer tee.
Yes. If you provide me with a high resolution digital photograph, I’ll happily do a drawing. Contact me directly, for pricing. Plus, I’ll probably have some ideas on how to photograph your bike, for the best results.
I work as a Landscape Designer. I love it. It gets me outdoors, and lets me use the artistic side of my brain. It’s never boring, either. I first started out in the field 27 years ago. I’m out riding on my motorcycle every chance I get. I’ve got a Kawasaki Vulcan, right now. Last year, we hit all the New England States, and Upstate New York, on trips. Other than that, I love to cook, and go to the Roller Derby, to see the Wicked Pissahs mop up the track.
